Top award for creative agency’s road safety campaign

Alastair Scott, 20/20 Productions
Edinburgh creative agency 20/20 Productions has landed an award for a hard-hitting road safety event delivered on behalf of South Ayrshire Council.
The firm scooped the Best Small Event award for its ‘Reckless Driving Wrecks Lives’ campaign at the Drum Scottish Event Awards held last week (October 7) in Glasgow.
Managing director, Alastair Scott, said: “This was a demanding brief with a number of requirements, including creating a hard-hitting event that would tell a story and raise awareness of the subject with young people. The South Ayrshire Council’s brief was challenging but great to work on.
“This project delivers real and important outcomes and, over the nine years we have worked with South Ayrshire Council, independent studies have shown this event in particular has had a huge impact on the attendees.”
David Porte, community safety team teader at South Ayrshire Council, said: “Fatalities and serious injuries amongst the 16 – 25 year old age group continue to fall on Ayrshire roads, in no small part I believe, to the professionalism, style and content of the Reckless Driving Wrecks Lives event.
“20/20 Productions have been a valuable production partner for Reckless Driving Wrecks Lives since its inception in 2007, and they have worked closely with us to develop the unique concept of the initiative. Their valuable expertise has been integral to the development of this award-winning project, and has been a major contribution to the impact that the event has on young people.”
