Popular Lanark freeholding enters the market
A popular Lanark bar and restaurant which is looking for new owners could present a good investment opportunity for someone in the east of Scotland.
The Woodpecker in Lanark, which has a good reputation for serving quality home cooked food, has been put on the market through specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.
The bar and restaurant, which can seat up to 70 covers, has been run by Eileen and Gerry McGarrigle, who has recently passed away, for the past 30 years.
Josh Hill, the Christies business agent who is handling the sale, said: “We are delighted to bring to the market this popular bar and restaurant. The business provides a great opportunity to further its trading potential and it would suit both a husband and wife team or a chef proprietor, for example.”
Eileen McGarrigle said: “Gerry ran the pub side of the business and was a popular and respected landlord. He was the heart and soul of the business and I now feel that this is the right time to move on and sell the business to a new owner who will further enhance the business.”
