New hand baggage requirements on flights from some countries

Laptops, tablets and larger mobile phones no longer permitted in the cabin

The UK Government has rolled out new security requirements on flights to the UK from the following countries: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey.
Travellers flying from these countries into the UK will no longer be able to carry laptops, tablets and larger mobile phones in their hand baggage on these flights. Only mobile phones smaller than 16×9.3×1.5cm will be allowed in the cabin.
Certain items known as peripheral devices (which can be attached to a laptop, tablet or larger mobile phone) are also subject to new security requirements, with some banned from the aircraft altogether.
British Airways is one of the airlines to pledge full compliance.
