Scots are the best savers when it comes to preparing for Christmas, according to a study carried out by money-saving and cashback website 247homeshopping.com
They started saving before anyone else in the UK, according to the report which suggests that Scottish shoppers are becoming increasingly spending savvy.
A thrifty third, including 25% and 33% in Edinburgh and Aberdeen respectively, were already saving by July and more than 50% will have started this month (September).
Website founder Richard Winhammar said: “Shoppers are becoming increasingly savvy. A super prepared 14% of Scots start to save for Christmas as early as January, and our research also revealed that a fifth (19%) of those in Scotland use vouchers or reward systems to help save money at Christmas.”
The research was conducted on behalf of www.PaidShop.com and surveyed 1,000 men and women across the UK.
