Scottish EDGE has today (Monday, February 1) launched round 8 of its competition –giving entrepreneurs based in Scotland a chance of winning up to £150,000.
The last round of Scottish EDGE saw more than £1.3 million shared among 39 winners across four different categories – a prize organisers say has already massively impacted on the businesses that won.
The first four rounds of Scottish EDGE were delivered by Scottish Enterprise alongside various partners. But, in August 2014 Sir Tom Hunter and RBS agreed to extend the success of the fund and lead in its delivery going forward in partnership with Scottish Government.
Scottish EDGE Rounds 1-7 have resulted in 130 winners, 479 new Scottish jobs created, £21.6 million of additional turnover generated and £18.7 million of external funding received.
For applicants looking to prepare for their initial application, Scottish EDGE has a number of tools available on its website, which includes a best practice example application showing what worked well for previous winning applicants.
It also features examples of successful three-minute videos on the YouTube page as well as application workshops being held in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling by partner organisations Entrepreneurial Spark, Elevator and STEP Stirling.
The deadline for entries is Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
