This year’s Investment Conference, which is the UK’s largest event focusing on pension fund investment, is set to take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) between March 9 and 11.
It will address the gamut of uncertainty surrounding pension funds and the impending referendum which will decide the UK’s relationship with the rest of Europe, as well reflecting on the structure of the investment industry in general.
Organisers say the event will not only explore these and other issues, but help to bring some clarity and certainty as to how schemes can best manage their short-term pressures whilst also being responsible long-term investors delivering what their members want and need.
Guest speakers include:
Yanis Varoufakis, former Minister of Finance, Greece
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web
Christiana Figueres, executive secretary, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
Professor David Spiegelhalter, Winton professor of the Public Understanding of Risk
Simon Shama, historian
