Work underway for 90 new executive Midlothian homes

First of new Straiton properties for professionals and families to be ready by early 2017

A major house builder is set to start construction work later this month at a much-anticipated new housing project in Midlothian.
CALA Homes’ ‘Mayburn Park’ development at Straiton is now underway after it received full backing from Midlothian Council following a proposal in line with its vision for much needed new homes in the area.
The new CALA development, which is located off Loanhead Road, will bring a mix of properties suitable for young professionals and families, with the first of the 90 properties estimated to be ready by early 2017.
Stala Thomson, sales manager at CALA Homes (East), said: “We are delighted to have been given the go ahead for this development, allowing us to provide much needed homes in the area.
“The development not only benefits from excellent local services and amenities but it is also fantastically positioned for access to Edinburgh and the wider area.”
The Straiton development will consist of three-bedroom terraces as well as four-bedroom semi-detached, and four and five-bed detached family homes.02 Straiton Street Scene
Acknowledging the importance of maintaining the wider greenbelt for the community, CALA says it has ensured its development will include generous open public space.
Headquartered in Scotland, CALA Homes employs 600 people and earned its reputation on the high quality of the homes it builds, which are sensitively designed to augment the areas in which they are located.

It claims the result is homes which are highly sought-after and which retain their value over decades, earning loyalty from owners, who often live in a series of CALA properties.

CALA Homes has received the maximum 5-Star rating in the Home Builders Federation’s National New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey for seven consecutive years.
