Bosses encouraged to register for Opportunities Fife’s Employ with Confidence event
Employers in Fife are being urged to get along to free information event to be held at the Vine Conference Centre in Dunfermline on Thursday, 30 June as part of Deafblind Awareness Week UK, which launches today (Monday, 27 June) and runs until 3 July.
They’re encouraged to find out more about lifting the barriers which prevent disabled people getting into the workplace at the ‘Employ with Confidence’ event organised by Opporunities Fife, in partnership with Shaw Trust Scotland and Fife Voluntary Action.
Deaf Communications Services from Fife’s Health and Social Care Partnership will host an information stall at the event.
Development worker Jennifer Anderson said: “We are glad to be supporting employers in providing information, advice & support for deaf and hard of hearing people back into work.”
The event will also see the launch of ‘Disability Confident in Scotland’. This Scottish Government campaign encourages employers to recruit and retain disabled people who have the skills, talents and abilities that employers are looking for.
