doubles Edinburgh seats in major regional expansion

Airline doubles number of seats available from Edinburgh for winter 2016 and launches flights to Fuerteventura and Turin

Low cost airline has announced a huge expansion from Edinburgh Airport to include two new destinations and more than 135,000 seats.
It’s the operator’s largest ever winter programme – set to run between October 30 2016 and 25 March 2017 – to be rolled out from Edinburgh Airport, with double the amount of seats as last year. says this growth has been driven by the expansion of popular existing routes as well as the launch of new destinations Fuerteventura and Turin.
It has also added more seats to winter beach break destinations this year including the Canary Islands, Alicante and Faro.
Steve Heapy, chief executive officer of and Jet2holidays, said: “This is by far our biggest winter programme to date.
“The number of people in Edinburgh jetting away for some much-needed winter sunshine means we are seeing spectacular growth, and we now have almost 100,000 winter sun seats to popular holiday hotspots such as Alicante, the Canary Islands and the Algarve.”
“It isn’t just the sunshine that is driving growth, as our ski and city break destinations are on the up too.
“As a result we are adding two brand new winter routes, Fuerteventura and Turin. When you combine these new routes with the success of our other winter destinations then it puts us in a very strong position to enjoy our most successful winter yet.”
