Home Business Travel Hardies reflects on 10-year relationship with Trump on completion of Turnberry
Hardies celebrates the completion of Trump’s showcase 5-star Ayrshire resort and is keen to work with the group again
Hardies Property & Construction Consultants has described the Trump Turnberry project as its most challenging and rewarding to date.
The surveying firm, which has 14 offices across Scotland, including in Edinburgh, Dunfermline and St Andrews, says the task “to make Trump Turnberry the best hotel in the UK, later Europe, in just 32 weeks” was no mean feat, but that it’s hoping to work with the Trump organisation again in the near future.
It has already enjoyed a 10-year relationship with the Trump Organisation and, after completing work on Trump Turnberry, which was officially opened by Donald Trump two weeks ago, hasn’t ruled out working with the group again.
Hardies partner Danny McArthur, who oversaw the work at the five-star Ayrshire Resort, said: “Hardies is very proud to mark its 10-year relationship with the Trump Organisation by completing Trump Turnberry.
“We were set a challenge to make Turnberry the best hotel in the UK, later Europe.
“We refurbished the entire building inside and out. The results are truly stunning. The Trump Organisation set the standard globally when it comes to quality.
“Managing this project to the level of finish required in the short timescales given was a major challenge and we are delighted to have pulled it off.”
McArthur explained that Hardies provided a full scope of service for the project, from project management to quantity surveying, to a principal designer service and full clerk of works cover.
“Nothing has been left untouched, “ he said.
“All 103 bedrooms, all uniquely styled, have been refurbished, including all corridors, all front and back of house areas and even the 48 housekeeping cupboards.
“Every window in the hotel has been replaced, along with all render, and all dormer roofs which have been renewed.
“This work is part of the Trump Organisation’s £200 million refurbishment plans for Trump Turnberry.”
Eric Trump, executive vice president of development and acquisitions said: “It was a great pleasure working with Hardies.
“They are a great company who played a pivotal role in the incredible renovation of Trump Turnberry.”
