easyJet braces itself for record number of passengers on busiest day

Airline expects to fly more than 255,000 passengers today 

easyJet says it’s expecting to welcome more than 255,000 passengers on its flights today (Friday, 23 September) on what is set to be the busiest day in the airline’s history, with more than 1,600 flights taking off across its network.
In the UK alone, over 147,000 passengers are set to fly to or from easyJet’s UK airports on over 930 flights setting another record for the most customers travelling with the airline on one day.
Madrid, Malaga, Paphos, Barcelona, Athens and Gibraltar top the list of most popular destinations.
Sophie Dekkers, easyJet’s UK director, said: “September has always been one of our busiest times of year and this year will be no exception.
“Every year, more and more people choose easyJet to take them on their late Summer getaways or for business trips and this year has broken records once again.
“Whether customers are flying to enjoy a relaxing break, visiting friends and family or for work, we are doing everything possible to make our customer’s travel as easy and of course, affordable as possible.”
