West Lothian Chamber event to explore the perceived ‘dark art’ of successful recruitment and retention
Lothians-based businesses are urged to get along to an exciting HR & Recruitment-themed Lunch & Learn to be hosted by West Lothian Chamber of Commerce this November.
They’re encouraged to sign up for the event – to be held at the Best Western Hilcroft Hotel in Whitburn between 11.30am and 1.30pm on Tuesday, 8 November – to hear from HR expert Ian Pilbeam of the HR Dept Edinburgh & Lothians who will discuss how to make sure new team members share the same values and company ethos; demonstrate the required behaviours, and have enough skill, knowledge and experience to deliver the core components of the job.
According to Pilbeam, the event has been designed for organisations that know how important it is to bring in the right people and how difficult it can be in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
He says firms will learn how to keep key talent and get the best out of them to benefit their businesses and will leave armed with the tools and tips needed to attract and retain the right staff.
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the following questions, then the event could be for you:
Do you recruit based on what people have done in the past?
Do you recruit more on technical ability than on attitude?
Do you sometimes find that people turn out not be what or who you thought they were and you have to let them go?
Do you hate to think how much getting it wrong costs you in time, lost opportunity, productivity, disruption and hassle?
