Airline honoured by Edinburgh Airport’s head of marketing
If you fly – or are planning to fly – with Qatar Airways for business travel then rest assured you’re in good hands because the airline has just been given an award by Edinburgh Airport for its passenger experience.
Qatar Airways, which operates daily flights from Edinburgh to the Qatar capital of Doha, has been recognised by Edinburgh Airport as the airline to offer the best customer service.
It was awarded the Best Customer Service Award by Edinburgh Airport’s head of marketing, Rob Lang, at the 2016 Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) Awards held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow on Thursday night (November 3).
Now in their 24th year, the SPAA Awards celebrate excellence in the Scottish travel industry.
Qatar Airways country manager, UK & Ireland, Morena Bronzetti, said: “We are honoured to be recognised as offering the best customer service by Scotland’s largest airport after just two years of operations from Edinburgh.
“We would like to thank the airport team and the travel trade across Scotland for their continued role in the success of our daily Dreamliner service which we know is so valued by Scottish business and leisure travellers alike.”
Lang, who presented the award, said: “Qatar Airways’ exceptional customer service is not just their five-star inflight experience but also their collaboration with the operations teams here at Edinburgh Airport and dedication to the travel trade throughout Scotland. We congratulate them on winning the 2016 Edinburgh Airport Customer Service Award.”
Qatar Airways’ daily flights from Edinburgh are operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner in a two-cabin configuration, comprising of 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class. Every seat features an individual screen with Oryx One, Qatar Airways’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, offering passengers up to 3,000 entertainment options from the latest blockbuster movies, TV box sets, music and games.
In Business Class, every seat has direct aisle access where passengers can catch up on sleep in a fully-flat bed or make productive use of their time utilising the large work surface area. Travellers can also stay connected while travelling with the option of Wi-Fi which is available throughout the aircraft.
Edinburgh is one of Qatar Airways’ four gateways in the United Kingdom alongside London Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham with onward connections to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations around the world via their state-of-the-art home and hub in Doha.
