New aparthotel to open on the Royal Mile this December

Hotel will mark a worlwide first for Europe-based Aparthotel Adagio

Global hotel operator Aparthotel Adagio is set to open its first new-look aparthotel in Edinburgh next month.
The group will open its new 146-apartment Aparthotels Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile hotel open in the city’s £150 million New Waverley development on December 19.

It says it’s an exciting and groundbreaking launch for the brand which will see it unveil a new-look property from top to bottom – a worldwide first for the company – offering a lighter, brighter and altogether more dynamic living space.
The Edinburgh opening is also the first Adagio aparthotel to feature its new concept public space where guests can meet, share and collaborate
Adagio says the design has taken its inspiration from the stunning architecture and nature which make up the famous Edinburgh landscape.
Its innovative aparthotel concept has so far been successfully rolled-out across Europe and is now being applied to some of the UK’s premier city-centre destinations.
Edinburgh is the third UK opening, following launches in Liverpool in 2013 and Birmingham in 2015.
It provides hotel services and fully furnished studios, as well as one-bedroomed apartments with stylish kitchens and bathrooms, setting a new benchmark for high-quality self-catering accommodation.screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-09-43-11
Jose Gómez general manager of Aparthotels Adagio, said: “The opening of Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile is an important milestone in the global development of Adagio. The first new look aparthotel to open anywhere in the world, the Edinburgh launch demonstrates our continued commitment to bringing an exceptional product to our guests around the world. It is an exciting time for the brand and we are thrilled that the new concept will be seen in such an world-renowned city as Edinburgh for the very first time.”
Adagio says its impressive four-storey aparthotel has been painstaking constructed behind an existing façade of two 1930s tenement buildings overlooking the Royal Mile – one of which is C-listed Sailors Ark building, formerly an ex-serviceman’s hostel which helped feed the city’s homeless before and after the Second World War.
The property is located minutes from Edinburgh Waverley train station on Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, overlooking New Waverley’s new football pitch-sized public square which opens in early December, becoming the first significant public space to open in the city-centre for more than 50 years.
The Edinburgh opening follows further international growth for Adagio, with recent openings in Paris, Frankfurt and Moscow. Continued expansion is planned with openings expected in London, Brazil and Doha in 2017.
Aparthotels Adagio now has 100 properties in more than 10 countries.
