Maggie’s Fife and the Bethany Christian Trust receive £1,175 to support people in Fife
Local charities Maggie’s Fife and the Bethany Christian Trust have been given a boost of £1,175 thanks to the generosity of guests at Fife Chamber’s Annual Dinner.
They each received a cheque from the Fife Chamber team following a prize draw held on the night.
Claire Heaton, fundraising manager at Maggie’s Fife, said: “Maggie’s Fife is run entirely on voluntary donations and the fantastic efforts of the attendees of the Annual Dinner will allow us to continue to develop our unique, high-quality programme of support to help those living with cancer and their family and friends across Fife.
“This year the centre needs to raise over £450,000 to run our support groups and we couldn’t achieve this without support from organisations such as the Fife Chamber and its associates.”
Ann McLaughlin, corporate fundraiser at homelessness charity the Bethany Christian Trust, which is based in Edinburgh and operates an office in Methil, said: “The Bethany Christian Trust works with over 7,000 individuals and families every year who find themselves in very difficult circumstances, struggling with daily life due to illness, unemployment or difficult family circumstances.
“We are extremely thankful for the generous donation raised by the guests at the Annual Dinner and presented to us by Fife Chamber, and the money will go back into supporting the most in need users of our Methil based services.”
Fife Chamber president Peter Southcott added: “The Fife Chamber Annual Dinner is a fantastic event which showcases the diversity and success of business in Fife year-on-year, with almost 200 guests attending this year’s celebration.
“It is heart-warming to know that, in the midst of celebration, our guests were thinking of those less fortunate and took the opportunity to offer their generous support to the Chamber’s chosen charities and the valuable services that they provide.
“The Chamber is very proud to support such worthy causes and equally proud of our members for showing their support.”
