Home Social Christmas comes early for 10 lucky airport passengers
Christmas Fairies descend on International Arrivals and Departures to spread some festive cheer
Ten lucky passengers travelling through Edinburgh Airport have received early Christmas presents courtesy of their loved ones.
They were each granted a special Christmas ‘wish’ – delivered by the Airport’s festive ‘fairies’ – after being nominated on social media.
Among those to receive a special gift, which ranged from afternoon tea at The Balmoral and gift vouchers for The Honours to Chanel perfume and personalised chocolates, were Sandy McAllister from Glasgow, who cared for his wife last Christmas when she nearly lost her eyesight, and Kevin O’Neill from Inverkething, who is currently fighting cancer.
They were tracked down by the goodwill fairies, who waited for them in International Arrivals and Departures holding personalised signs, via their flight numbers and photographs.
A film showing the lucky recipients surprised reactions will be posted on the Edinburgh Airport social media pages later this week.
The Christmas Fairies will return to the airport on the 23 December to surprise members of staff and some further unsuspecting passengers.
