New contract wins push Business Stream over the £100m mark inside five months of trading
Water retailer Business Stream has announced it has secured £100m in new customer contracts since the opening of the English non-domestic water market in April this year.
New contracts include water supply deals with Debenhams, Places for People and Southampton Airport.
The Edinburgh-based company significantly expanded its operation to capture an increased share of the £2.5bn English market, which has enabled 1.2 million businesses and public bodies in England to choose their water supplier for the first time. As well as acquiring the non-household customer base of Southern Water, it also opened a new office in Worthing.
Now thought to be one of the largest water suppliers in the Anglo-Scottish market, a number of new contract wins has pushed the company over the £100m mark inside five months of trading.

Business Stream recently announced successfully winning places on the two key English public sector frameworks: Laser and the Crown Commercial Service (CCS).
Scotland’s non-domestic market, which covers all premises across private and public sector organisations, opened to competition in April 2008. Since then Business Stream says its customers have saved more than £160m on their water bills and conserved 24 billion litres of water.
