Aberdour Pharmacy in Fife has been sold to Edinburgh-headquartered Omnicare Pharmacy group for offers over £475k.
The property received several offers over a four-week period before a deal was agreed by Christie & Co on behalf of the owner, who was an independent operator.
Edinburgh-based Christie & Co has, this month, also sold a second community pharmacy – Garelochhead Pharmacy near Helensburgh – after agreeing a deal with Davidsons Chemists group which, until now, has been predominantly based in the east of Scotland.
Davidsons Chemistsis now expanding into the west after opening Drymen Pharmacy and now purchasing Garelochhead Pharmacy in
Karl Clezy, Director at Christie & Co, who handled both sales, said: “Aberdour Pharmacy was only open part-time, dispensing on average 2,000 items per month and therefore gave the new buyers plenty of scope to extend the opening hours and increase profit.
“It is by far a seller’s market in Scotland at the moment and with the right market advice and an agent who works solely on behalf of the seller, a higher than expected sale price can often be achieved.”
