Crieff Hydro pumps £780,000 into self-catering facilities and launches new app
Crieff Hydro is coming to the end of an almost £800,000 revamp of its extensive self-catering facilities, which make up a third of bookings at the award-winning resort.
The refurbishment, which began in January 2017, is drawing to a close over the next two months with the last in a series of improvements to the resort’s cabins and lodges. With a spend of £780,000 and up to £60,000 per unit, the refurbishment includes full kitchen and bathroom refits, new décor and furniture, and replacements to kitchenware and utensils.
Alongside the property revamp, Crieff Hydro has launched a new app which gives guests the opportunity to rebook, receive flash sale notifications and to use as a point of reference when navigating around the 900-acre estate.
Self-catering accommodation at the Perthshire resort ranges from luxury apartments and cottages for two, to lodges and family-sized homes sleeping 14 people. Self-catering makes up a third of accommodation turnover, and 15% of total turnover at the resort. All 50 self-catering units are dotted around the estate, which boasts a riding stable, an Action Glen activity centre, a swimming pool, water sports, a ‘tween’ zone, supervised childcare at Big Country, an in-house cinema and six eating outlets.
Stephen Leckie, CEO of Crieff Hydro, said: “Continuous investment and improvement of services are part of our ethos at Crieff Hydro, and over the past several years we have pumped £40 million into our flagship resort here in Highland Perthshire. This spend, together with the £780,000 investment in self-catering and the new self-catering app, ensures that we remain one of the top choices for families, couples and groups in the UK.”
