Apprentices give MSP a crash course in precision milling

MSP Jamie Hepburn has paid a special visit to Almond Engineering to learn about career pathways for young people in West Lothian

Scottish Government Minister for Employability and Training Jamie Hepburn MSP has paid a special visit to Livingston as a guest of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) West Lothian Regional Group.
He visited engineering specialist Almond Engineering Limited on Kirkton Campus to meet former apprentices who now have now qualified as engineers with the firm.
Hepburn also heard about plans to look at other design engineering apprenticeship opportunities next year and the company’s pioneering collaborative partnership with DYW West Lothian which offers pathways from education into the world of work.
