Starbucks has returned to Fort Kinnaird after a six-month hiatus.
It closed its old unit in May and since then developers have been working on a bespoke, newly-built pod with customised interior seating accommodating 128 customers and an outdoor area seating 46.
Lindy Watson, Deputy Centre Manager at Fort Kinnaird, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Starbucks open at Fort Kinnaird – just in time for gingerbread latte season. The new pod is looking absolutely fantastic and we know it will be well-used and loved by our customers, as well as our staff.”
The new cafe has provided 18 jobs. Two-thirds of these were filled through Fort Kinnaird’s Recruitment and Skills Centre, a unique private, public and third sector partnership designed to support employers and jobseekers.
Former Starbucks Fort Kinnaird Manager Stefanie Mappourido, who has returned to run the new unit, said: “It is fantastic to finally be able to unveil our new store here at Fort Kinnaird. It is a stunning and modern space. Myself and the team are delighted to be able to welcome back customers old and new to enjoy our fantastic festive range, as well as classic favourites.”
JD Sports has also opened a significantly larger store at Fort Kinnaird, which also recently welcomed Wilko and a new and improved Waterstones.
The new Starbucks is open from 7am to 11pm on weekdays, 7.30am to 8pm on Saturdays and 8am to 7.30pm on Sundays.
