Black Pig & Oyster in Leith enters market for £90k

The Black Pig & Oyster at the Shore in Leith – close to a number of Michelin-star restaurants – is being marketed by Christie & Co for £90k

The Black Pig & Oyster in Edinburgh’s Leith district has entered the commercial property market under the management of Christie & Co.
Situated within the Shore, the 65-cover restaurant, which has a full premises licence, is surrounded by a range of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops, including Michelin star restaurants such as The Kitchin and Restaurant Martin Wishart.

It has been refurbished to a high standard by the current owner, featuring unlined brick walls and creative decor suitable for multiple cuisine styles. The entrance of the restaurant is a steel and glass extension, which is used as a reception area and could be an ideal space for hosting drinks and coffees before or after dinner. The metalwork complimented by the glass allows dinner guests to enjoy views of the Shores water. Extra seating for 20 covers is available outside across from the waterfront quay.
Tony Spence, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Edinburgh office, who is handling the sale, said: “Leith has become increasingly popular for dining and restaurateurs are now looking to take advantage of this by offering different styles of dining in an upcoming affluent area.
“The current lease has eight years remaining, however the landlord is looking for a long term investment as the restaurant is situated below an already existing office suite. This opportunity would be best suited to a chef operator, however there is scope for an experienced multiple operator to drive its potential in an exceptional area.”
Christie & Co is looking for an asking price of £90,000 for the leasehold.
