Travel advice for heading to Murrayfield

ScotRail is reminding rugby fans from Fife travelling to Scotland’s Six Nations home games at Murrayfield that trains will be extremely busy to and from Edinburgh.
As with most special events, the transport provider will be adding carriages to trains to and from Edinburgh – including the Borders line for the first time.
ScotRail will also have extra staff on the ground to help fans and, as with all special event trains, alcohol bans will be in place.
A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: “The Six Nations matches are a big draw. We’ve done absolutely everything we can to boost capacity on key routes into the capital. We can’t make every train longer but will definitely be using every train we have on both days.
“If you’re going to Murrayfield, please allow extra time for travel, and buy your ticket in advance, not on the day. If you can delay returning to the station after the match, there will be less chance of having to queue.”
Scotland will play England on Saturday, February 6, kicking off at 4.50pm, and France on Sunday, March 13, with a kick-off time of 3pm.
