Private hire venue launches first of four seasonal dining events
Borthwick Castle near Edinburgh is set to launch the first of four seasonal dining clubs hosted by in-house Chef Derek Johnstone.
The Gorebridge private hire venue will open its doors to dinner guests for the first time and is currently taking bookings for the first event – the Summer Dining Club – which takes place on 26 August.
The 15th Century Keep, which has recently been restored to luxury standard, will offer up a six-course menu celebrating the best of the Scottish summer, using seasonal and locally sourced produce.
According to organisers, Chef Johnstone has considered each dish within the menu and carefully crafted the flavours to suit the Scottish summer season.
Johnstone said: “I’m very excited to launch our first Dining Club at Borthwick Castle. This is something we have been planning for a while now and I am looking forward to preparing a wonderful meal for our guests to enjoy in such luxurious surroundings.”
Guests who are keen to live like a king and queen for the night can also book one of the 12 bedchambers within the castle keep.

Roast Ribeye of Scotch beef, served with Pickled Scottish Girolle Mushrooms, on a base of Smoked Onion Purée, drizzled with bone-marrow red-wine jus
