National Happiness Awards 2017 launch to find most upbeat teams and future leaders
The search is on to find Britain’s happiest workers and workplaces for the National Happiness Awards 2017.
And this year, as well as honouring the country’s happiest organisations and employees, the awards are expanding to look for the most upbeat teams and future leaders.
The National Happiness Awards, which are the first of their kind, were launched last year by international learning and development company Laughology to honour the people and places in the UK making a difference through happiness.
This year, the awards will be held at the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) and nominations are now open in the categories of Happiest Workplace, Happiest Employee, Happiest Team and Happiest Future Leader.
Laughology, which delivers training solutions across the private and public sectors, says workplace happiness is a serious business and that happiness as a commercial concept has gained much traction in recent years. It says David Brents need not apply.
According to the firm, The National Happiness Awards are designed to recognise the serious business of happiness, rather than workplace jokers. Judges will be looking for examples of positive programmes and actions which promote engagement and support.
Laughology Founder and CEO Stephanie Davies said: “No one can be happy all the time and at Laughology we help organisations creating environments for realistic happiness. This means giving people the skills needed to face challenges positively, t be resilient and to solve problems. The National Happiness Awards are designed to honour the people and places which are making real differences through positive actions and happiness. We know that happier people are healthier and more productive and increasingly businesses are understanding this, which can only be a good thing.”
The awards are sponsored by Simply Better Events. Nominations for all categories are invited via the Laughology website, where full details are available.
The award ceremony will be held on November 17 at CIPD Wimbledon, London SW19.
Entries close on October 20.
