Gore named one of World’s Best Workplaces for sixth year running

W. L. Gore has been recognised as one of the World’s Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work for the sixth year running

W. L. Gore & Associates, whose Scottish headquarters are in Livingston, has become one of only 25 companies to earn a spot on the World’s Best Workplaces List, for the sixth consecutive year.
The company, which specialises in global materials science, ranks No. 15 in the world’s largest annual study of workplace excellence.
More than 10 million people from 6,600 companies participated in the survey process for the World’s Best Workplaces list, sharing their perspectives on their work environment.
Gore CEO Terri Kelly said: “Our inclusion on the list is especially meaningful considering that it is largely driven by associate input. We benefit from an environment of shared ownership at Gore, where all associates are empowered to make a difference. Every day, “Associates come to work with an owner’s mindset, leveraging their talents and interests to strengthen our Enterprise and to deliver meaningful solutions to our customers that improve lives and industries around the world.”

The World’s Best Workplaces list is based on the results of Great Place to Work’s national top workplace lists. Conducted annually around the globe, these lists rank organisations based on the results of an in-depth culture audit and employees’ assessments of their jobs, managers, co-workers, opportunities for training and support for work/life balance, among other factors.

Great Place to Work’s CEO, Michael Bush, described the companies on the 2017 global list as the best of the best. He said: “They are at the vanguard of the ‘for all’ movement, working to maximize the potential of everyone in a way that’s better for the business, better for the people and better for the world.”
