“Edinburgh is the place to be for property in the current climate…”
One of north east Scotland’s most prominent commercial property solicitors has joined Edinburgh-headquartered Boyd Legal as it targets further growth in the market.
Shaun Mackintosh – formerly of a senior Aberdeen-based role – is joining Boyd’s ranks as it continues the push to establish itself as a leading name on the Scottish legal landscape.
Having previously acted on behalf of property developers, landlords, tenants, games developers, major housebuilders, landowners and global oil companies, and in acquisition and sale of a variety of businesses, Mackintosh has more than 16 years experience at the highest level – and will work from Boyd’s flagship Edinburgh office in the West End.
Mackintosh, who will join as commercial director, with responsibility for Commercial and Commercial Property, said: “Boyd Legal is a well respected outfit with major ambitions and plans in place for significant future growth throughout Scotland – and for me that made the move a very attractive proposition.
“Not only this, but the clear focus on excellent service to all of its clients made this opportunity a perfect fit.”
With a backgound working for prominent national property and business law firms, Mackintosh has also represented a list of clients with interests as varied as hotels, golf clubs, renewables, retailers and even salmon fisheries.
Now he will make the move to the capital to commit to the most vibrant property market in Scotland and is looking forward to building relationships with new and exisiting clients as well as professional colleagues in the central belt.
He added: “Edinburgh is the place to be for property in the current climate and I am looking forward to getting to know, and really investing in, the city and our clients – exisiting and new.”
The appointment follows hot on the heels of a recent merger with Kirkcaldy-based Gibson & Spears, Dow & Son, and highlights Boyd Legal’s focus to drive forward its growth plans.
Peter Boyd, managing partner of Boyd Legal, said: “I’m delighted to have a fellow Dundonian on board!
“Boyd Legal is a family business but we’re always excited to bring in new blood. Shaun has worked with an unmatched range of clients and his wealth of experience will enable us to further reach our potential.
“We have serious ambitions for growth and business development – through both acquisition and organic means and Shaun’s appointment is going to be the catalyst for this.”
Having recently undertaken a strategic review of its operations to support its drive for further growth, Boyd is committed to further establishing itself as a major player in the field.
With a flagship office in Edinburgh, Boyd Legal also has regional hubs across Scotland – in Kirkcaldy, Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen.
